This self-titled album embodies our DIY ethic in that it is 100% self-produced including all recording, mixing, and mastering. This extends to the physical release being copied at home onto repurposed cassettes and CD-Rs. It is as homemade as our percussion kit, and we fully embrace all of the rough edges. The core principle of our music is that we find ways to utilize what we have access to and craft it into something that, above all else, is intended to be an honest and unfiltered expression without the constraints of conventionality.

This is also our first release as a duo that was not comprised of live recordings, and the first full length HBE album that was not a collection of previous EPs. It spans the full spectrum of what we have to offer... from rhythmic scrap metal percussion with visceral vocals and screeching feedback, to somber spoken word melodies and ambient guitar, even a danceable darkwave tune featuring the taishogoto. In physical formats it comes packaged with a collection of collage art in the form of the zine "Broken Mirrors Become Windows" in place of a traditional cassette J-card or CD booklet.
